#PackADailyCircus - Patching it up

Good evening! If you are a manager looking for your free agents, well, they are still free. I plan to get that list done and out to you on Friday - *THIS* Friday (the 5th).

Meanwhile, the Managers/Players list is updated. That means I will also post current standings in the OOTP game tomorrow! Wahoo!! I have not run the game since the last update, so we'll see what expanding the rosters to a whopping 70 active players does!

Tonight, I have two "packs." One is a 2010 Topps Series 2. The other is a 2010 Commemorative Patch to open. Let's start with the pack of players:

Chris R Young - Padres - BoRosnys (Wahoo!!) - [Too bad he doesn't have one leg in the air: he'd be doing the whole "Karate Kid" move.]

Dustin Pedroia - Red Sox - RJBreezes (Wahoo!!) - [It's hard to tell if this is the end of a slide or if he is just resting on the field.]

Pittsburgh Pirates Team Card - Pirates - Free Agent - [In 2010, the Bucs were still awful. But, a couple years later, and they finally turned a winning season.]

Dan Haren - Diamondbacks - Wilsons (Wahoo!!) - [Did Topps have to get special permission to abbreviate the team name? I have no idea.]

Michael Saunders - Mariners - Free Agent - [The photo features him swinging just as the ball is about to connect with the bat. Very nice!]

Jim "Catfish" Hunter Peak Performance - A's - Dawgbones (Wahoo!!) - [According to the card, on May 8, 1968, he threw a perfect game and also had 3 hits with 3 RBIs. The "Perfect Day."]

Torii Hunter Topps Attax - Angels - Jennings (Wahoo!!) - [I love that Hunter is from Pine Bluff. Well, I just love the fact he is one of several Arky boys in the Bigs.]

Ryan Ludwick - Cardinals - Wilsons (Wahoo!! x2) - [Ex-Triber and he serves as the second hit for the Wilsons in the pack!]

Here is the patch card:

Harmon Killebrew Manufactured 1969 All-Star Game Patch - Twins - EG9460s (Wahoo!!) - [Interesting patch, as it looks absolutely awful. I mean, it is a manu-patch, so why "blur" the words on the patch!? Oh well, it is cool.]

Congratulations to ALL the managers pulling players from the pack! Stay tuned for tomorrow's OOTP updates!

  1. Not to take away from the "hit", but not only is it a "knock-off" looking patch, what's with the plain gray cardboard backing?? I've never been too impressed with manufactured relics, but I really think they missed the ball with these particular offerings!!
and that Catfish card is Schweet!!

    1. Exactly. Like you, I am not a fan of the manu-patches. Give us the real thing or find another way to celebrate these players. And then to make the patch "look" old makes it look like someone fell asleep at the sewing machine.
