182 Packs of Baseball - 072 - Blazing Saddles

Well, if everything goes according to plan, my family and I should be heading out for our vacation today!  We are visiting family in Pittsburgh (where I grew up, in case you missed my saying that a hundred times over the years) and we will be taking in an Indians game in Cleveland to boot!  My first-ever Jacobs Field experience. I feel like a kid on Christmas!

The "182 Packs" posts for the next week will be on major auto-pilot, though I will be checking in to read/respond to comments, etc.  Yes, I really am that addicted/connected.  Throughout the week, though, I will stick in "live" posts for fun.

So, to kick off my vacation, I am opening a pack of 1986 Donruss ML All-Stars.  Haha, if I were really devious, I would open a pack of these each day.  While that would be fun on one level, I think it would get monotonous.

Hank Aaron puzzle - 52, 53, 54
LaMarr Hoyt - Padres - Pop-Up

Donnie Moore - Angels
Ron Darling - Mets
Gary Ward - Rangers

Hahaha! My fingers kept trying to type "LaMarr Hedley!" Blazing Saddles kept running through my head. Oh, yeah, I need a vacation for sure.

Each day of the regular baseball season, I am busting open a pack of baseball cards.  These are packs that I have laying around and/or that I have purchased recently on a whim.  I list the cards in the pack and scan in some of them.  I shoot for 9 cards, but sometimes I may scan more, other times fewer.  It all depends on how things hit me in that particular pack.  Oh yes, there will be duplication.  I have a TON of packs from certain brands/years.  I will, however, try to mix things up throughout the season.

For those keeping score, I know there are not actually 182 GAMEDAYS in the 2012 season.  I am counting ALL the days between Opening Day and the last day of the regular season.  Frankly, it's easier that way.  Thanks for playing along.

Also, you are welcome to claim teams/players (Max 3 total). Rules are at the following:

  1. Haha, thanks! The Reds kicked the Tribe's butt in CinCin so I hope we return the favor. And, I will be there to watch one of those thrashings - either way it falls.

  2. It was just payback for the beating the Tribe gave us last year. I hoping for a Reds sweep in Cleveland next week, but that probably won't happen :) Have fun at Progressive. Not a bad seat in that stadium.

  3. Not too long ago, my city's sheriff was named Neer. I'd yell out "The Sheriff is Neer!" every time I saw his re-election billboard.
