182 Packs of Baseball - 065 - When the stars come out

It is Friday, folks! Wahoo! I love Fridays because in the summer, the office where I work is closed (we work 4 10-hour days in the summer).  Now, you'd think that would mean I'd sleep in, take advantage of the day off, do nothing. Nope. There are things to do!  And before I get to THOSE, I'm getting to these:

2008 Upper Deck Series 2

Grady Sizemore - Indians - WAHOO!! I love starting off a pack with a Triber!
Kerry Wood - Cubs
Jeremy Guthrie - Orioles
Brandon Phillips - Reds
Sean Casey - Red Sox
Derrick Turnbow - Brewers
Matt Treanor - Marlins
Endy Chavez - Mets
Adam Jones - Orioles
Miguel Cabrera - Tigers
Scott Rolen - Blue Jays
Matt Garza - Rays
Ichiro - Mariners - Season Highlights
Matt Holliday - Rockies - Season Highlights
Brian Barton - Cardinals
Nick Swisher - White Sox
Manny Ramirez - Red Sox - Superstar Scrapbooks
Albert Pujols - Cardinals - Starquest Common

Pulling a Kerry Wood is awesome at anytime, but given that he is now retired and most likely a HOFer (in my opinion), that makes it even better.  "Endy" is a very interesting name. I don't know why, but that Barton card "pops" for me. Maybe the contrasting red and green. Or maybe I feel like Santa Claus. I don't think I've ever seen the "Scrapbooks" cards before. That's kinda cool.  Yeah, we end the pack on a bang, er a machine. Looking back through the list, I see a LOT of Tribe-related players (players that served for the Indians during their career).  Then again, give me alist of random players and there is a chance they passed through Cleveland either on their way to stardom or on their way back from it.  Fortunately, though, the Tribe has seen its share of stars - Sizemore being one of them.

Each day of the regular baseball season, I am busting open a pack of baseball cards.  These are packs that I have laying around and/or that I have purchased recently on a whim.  I list the cards in the pack and scan in some of them.  I shoot for 9 cards, but sometimes I may scan more, other times fewer.  It all depends on how things hit me in that particular pack.  Oh yes, there will be duplication.  I have a TON of packs from certain brands/years.  I will, however, try to mix things up throughout the season.

For those keeping score, I know there are not actually 182 GAMEDAYS in the 2012 season.  I am counting ALL the days between Opening Day and the last day of the regular season.  Frankly, it's easier that way.  Thanks for playing along.

Also, you are welcome to claim teams/players (Max 3 total). Rules are at the following:
