Tribecards from Outer Space: Three-up...

Greetings, folks! Welcome to another edition of the Tribecards from Outer Space "Three for Thursday" special. Tonight, we'll rip open three packs of cards to see which managers walk away with players of their choice and which players will enter the draft on Friday. Oh, yeah, we'll also get to see which managers walk away empty-handed. Let's not think about that. At least, not yet.

First up, 2013 Gypsy Queen. 6 cards per pack.

Dustin Pedroia - Red Sox - Dominicfdny (Wahoo!!)
Clayton Richard - Padres - Padrographs (Wahoo!!)
Wilin Rosario Collisions at the Plate - Rockies - Prowlingcat (Wahoo!!)
Angel Pagan Mini - Giants - Stealing Home (Wahoo!!)
Darin Ruf - Phillies - CattleRustler (Wahoo!!)
Tyler Skaggs - DBacks - Free Agent

Well, dang. We almost ran the pack. Angel Pagan has got to be one of the most contradictory names to have ever played the game. His parents were either brilliant or crazy for naming their child as they did. The Collisions card is pretty sweet as is the mini. Congrats folks!

(It wasn't until I saw the scan that I realized the Collisions card is upside down. I left it like that.)

The next pack is 1989 Bowman - the Comeback Edition. 12 cards and 1 stick of gum per pack.

Kal Daniels - Reds - Trhdds (Wahoo!!)
Rey Quinones - Mariners - Free Agent
Pete Harnisch - Orioles - Free Agent
Alex Sanchez - Blue Jays - BP_Weber (Wahoo!!)
Tom Henke - Blue Jays - Akgonzolyn (Wahoo!!)
Dan Plesac - Brewers - Thorzul
Jackie Robinson Sweepstakes Card - Dodgers - Erin Rose (Wahoo!!)
Bob Welch - A's - Captain Canuck (Wahoo!!)
Mike Moore - A's - Free Agent
Al Newman - Twins - gcrl (Wahoo!!)
Rick Reuschel - Giants - CattleRustler (Wahoo!!)
Rafael Santana - Yankees - Free Agent
Lonnie Smith - Braves - Free Agent

Well, fared a hair better than splitting the pack. Not bad. CattleRustler is 2-for-2 tonight! Glad to see more than a handful of managers add cards to their stacks.

The final pack of the night comes to us from 1995 Phil Rizzuto. 7 cards per pack.

Patsy Dougherty - White Stockings - Free Agent
Great Fielding
Baltimore Blues
Rally Day Postcard
Saturday Globe
Scorecard Artwork

I'll add Patsy to the free agent draft since the card specifically depicts him and mentions his name on the back. I like these cards. You learn weird fact from baseball history. For example, the back of the "Error" card discusses the error of giving Doubleday credit for baseball. Sometimes, myth is better than real life.

  1. I love the Phil Rizzuto cards. I just got a few more from a trade with Ana Lu from Portugal!

  2. I should have drafted the stick of gum.
