182 Packs of Baseball - 016

The 16th Day of the regular MLB season happens to fall on my BIRTHDAY! Wahoo!! It's hard to believe that I turn the big Four-Three this year.  Forty-three... Man, where does the time go?  I remember flipping and trading card with my buddies, then gluing our cards to spiral notebook pages like it was yesterday.  I remember dropping a couple bucks on a a handful of packs, tossing the "junk" cards into the trash outside the dairy store where we bought them.

For today's pack, I am busting open a pack of 1991 Studio.

Rod Carew Puzzle - Twins - 43, 44, 45
Kurt Stillwell - Royals
David Segui - Orioles
Greg Vaughn - Brewers
Jeff Reardon - Red Sox

Don Salught - Pirates
Hal Morris - Reds
Lee Smith - Cardinals
Pete Harnisch - Astros
Phil Planter - Red Sox
Jose Lind - Pirates

Each day of the regular baseball season, I am busting open a pack of baseball cards.  These are packs that I have laying around and/or that I have purchased recently on a whim.  I list the cards in the pack and scan in some of them.  I shoot for 9 cards, but sometimes I may scan more, other times fewer.  It all depends on how things hit me in that particular pack.  Oh yes, there will be duplication.  I have a TON of packs from certain brands/years.  I will, however, try to mix things up throughout the season.

For those keeping score, I know there are not actually 182 GAMEDAYS in the 2012 season.  I am counting ALL the days between Opening Day and the last day of the regular season.  Frankly, it's easier that way.  Thanks for playing along.

Also, you are welcome to claim teams/players (Max 3 total). Rules are at the following:

  1. Happy Birthday bud. A week after mine. Talk about a good month!

  2. Thanks guys!!! Well, since I missed it: Happy Birthday to you too!!

  3. Greetings...first off, Happy birthday!

Second, I tried posting several times yesterday with my request but it didn't take. I was able to get it to appear, but now it's gone. But it appears my choices are still available. May I request the following:

    1. Cubs (looks like only Cubbieblue has them)
    2. Marlins (for the Hawk)
    3. Cards with more than one player from the same team (your call on the Angels/Langston card).

I hope this gets posted. Thanks for the contest!
