182 Packs of Baseball - 015

Now, you may recall that I have stated several times during the course of these breaks that I have TONS of packs from the same year/brand.  You are going to see the same year/brand opened over and over again during the regular baseball season.  It is akin to following every single game of your favorite team: You would see the same players over and over.

Now, the advantage to pack-busting is that we will most likely *not* see the same thing over and over, right?  I mean, after all, people are trying to enhance their collections here!

With all that said, I reached into my magic bag (er, okay, it's a large storage box) and pulled out: 1998 Stadium Club Hobby!  Wait, I just realized the pack says these are "The EVENS."  What the heck does that mean?  Welp, I guess we'll find out.

Brad Rigby - A's (Card 152)
John Jaha - Brewers (Card 142)
Delino DeShields - Cardinals (Card 48, I'm sensing a pattern here)

Keith Foulke - White Sox (Card 270)
AJ Hinch - A's (Bowman Prospect Preview, Card BP9)
Raul Casanova - Tigers (Card 70)

Paul O'Neill - Yankees (Card 104)
Dennis Eckersley - Red Sox (TRANSACTIONS, Card 362)
Bobby Estalella - Phillies (Prime Rookies, Card 350)
Checklist 2 of 2

Evidently, "EVENS" means all the cards are even-numbered, except for the insert.  Guess I'll have to see if I have any of the "ODDS" variety.  What a weird way to distribute cards.

Each day of the regular baseball season, I am busting open a pack of baseball cards.  These are packs that I have laying around and/or that I have purchased recently on a whim.  I list the cards in the pack and scan in some of them.  I shoot for 9 cards, but sometimes I may scan more, other times fewer.  It all depends on how things hit me in that particular pack.  Oh yes, there will be duplication.  I have a TON of packs from certain brands/years.  I will, however, try to mix things up throughout the season.

For those keeping score, I know there are not actually 182 GAMEDAYS in the 2012 season.  I am counting ALL the days between Opening Day and the last day of the regular season.  Frankly, it's easier that way.  Thanks for playing along.

Also, you are welcome to claim teams/players (Max 3 total). Rules are at the following:

  1. Hey David, I'm really enjoying the pack breaks! As of last night, I noticed no one had claimed the (non-Ripken) Orioles. If that's still the case, I'd like to put my hat in the ring. Thanks!

    1. You're in! Not just non-Ripken, though. You get any Ripken Dupes that trickle down, too!

  2. Hi...nice contest. Certainly is ambitious!

I am having problems posting a response, so I apologies if you are getting tons of e-mails from me. I am just not seeing it on your site.

May I please have the following:

    1. Cubs (assuming only one guy has them)
    2. Marlins (just for the Hawk)
    3. Cards with more than one teammate on it (your call on the Angels / Langston)

    Thanks!
