182 Packs of Baseball - 059 - Team Count, Anyone?

Todays marks another day closer to my family vacation to Pittsburgh with a special trip to Cleveland to watch the Tribe play!  In the spirit of surprise and a bit of anonimity, I am not posting the exact date we will be there ahead of time.  It's just one of those "Internet Safety" things that I try to practice in moderation, since I spend much of my training career preaching it to others.  I figure the least I could do is demonstrate it, at least a little bit.  I cannot wait!

Today, though, we are opening a pack of 1994 Fleer Ultra Series II!

Charlie Hayes - Rockies
Mike Gallego - Yankees
Craig Grebeck - White Sox
Matt Nokes - Yankees
Ray Durham - White Sox

Doug Jones - Phillies
Rick Sutcliffe - Cardinals
Jim Eisenreich - Phillies
Bernard Gilkey - Cardinals
Phil Planter - Padres
Mike Stanton - Braves
Brian Johnson - Padres
Harold Baines - Orioles
Greg Maddux - Braves - Strikeout King

Yeesh, we have a lot of cards from the same teams here.  I'm not sure if some of these are duplicates or not. I know we've seen the names, but I think those were on other brands.  Sure, I could do a quick search. Okay, I did for a few players, and we've seen Gallego, for example, but that was in a 1990 Fleer pack (Day 20).  In any case, others may very well be duplicates - good news for the folks that need some cards.

Each day of the regular baseball season, I am busting open a pack of baseball cards.  These are packs that I have laying around and/or that I have purchased recently on a whim.  I list the cards in the pack and scan in some of them.  I shoot for 9 cards, but sometimes I may scan more, other times fewer.  It all depends on how things hit me in that particular pack.  Oh yes, there will be duplication.  I have a TON of packs from certain brands/years.  I will, however, try to mix things up throughout the season.

For those keeping score, I know there are not actually 182 GAMEDAYS in the 2012 season.  I am counting ALL the days between Opening Day and the last day of the regular season.  Frankly, it's easier that way.  Thanks for playing along.

Also, you are welcome to claim teams/players (Max 3 total). Rules are at the following:

  1. It does amaze me when people who write a blog whose audience is a bunch of strangers who have their address tell people when they won't be home. I never talk about going away in advance and have automatic posting set up.

    1. Exactly! Of course, living on my father-in-law's land has its perks: He'll be home and he's always packin' heat. Don't mess with a country boy.
