Tribecards from Outer Space: Stars, Rookies, and Oddballs oh my!

Wow, we have been having another round of torrential rains here in LA! Er, that's "Lower Arkansas," in case you might be thinking of other "LAs" around our nation.  I will get to the pack-busting in a moment, but first I have a question regarding some of the packs I have.

I have packs of Phil Rizzuto Chromium, which are all-chrome, but basically depict things ABOUT baseball and not any particular players, though I suspect there could be some actual named ones in the set.  I also have packs of "Gross Out Awesome All-Stars" which depict cartoonish nameless players. Well, they have names, but not actual player names. I also have Looney Tunes Comic Ball featuring Reggie Jackson and Nolan Ryan. Yes, those are the only actual players depicted along side various cartoon characters.

What should I do with these? Do you want me to open them up and list them as free agents like regular players? Should I open them up and have a 'special' OddBall contest/giveaway apart from the season breaks? Should I NOT open them and come up with a way to give away the unopened packs? Is there some other way you'd like to have these cards handed out? I am up for suggestions.

While you ponder the fate of these oddball packs, have a look at what we're opening tonight. 1998 Score/Pinnacle Rookie/Traded with All-Star Epix inserts. 20 cards per pack.

Wow, some great players in this pack! Stars who would go one to be HOFers and Rookies that would become stars in their own right. Congrats to all the managers who scored (er, well, okay, slight pun intended) players in this pack!

Okay, now let me know what you think about the Oddball packs...

  1. I can just picture the next FA draft....

    Round 1

    1. Captain Canuck - Daffy Duck
    2. dayf - Elmer Fudd
    3. Tribecards - Bugs Bunny
    4.

I think maybe just randomly sprinkle those cards throughout the packages at the end....

  2. How does Bugs Bunny not go #1 in that draft.? He's a one-man team! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4XOIF_b_vk
Then again, maybe Captain Canuck is a Daffy Fan?

I agree with Captain Canuck. Sprinkle them around, but definitely show them off!

    1. Bugs dragged down Daffy for years. What an anchor.

You never hear about the Anaheim Mighty Rabbits. Or the Oregon Bunnies.

      It's Duck time. Go Duck.

    2. You know, that's not the first time I've heard someone say that Bugs was a detriment to Daffy.

You're right about the team nicknames, too! Good call!
