Good evening, folks! I got this week's draft up and going, so be sure to read the previous post if you are a manager. We have a lot of cool cards up for grabs this week. Tonight, I am opening a pack of 1984 Donruss Baseball Champions. Any free agents will be listed in next week's draft.
Duke Snider Puzzle 19, 20, 21 - Mark Aubrey (Wahoo!!)
Rusty Staub - Mets - Free Agent
Steve Garvey - Padres - gcrl (Wahoo!!)
Walter Johnson - Senators - Mark Aubrey (Wahoo!!)
Cal Ripken Jr - Orioles - Workman (Wahoo!!)
Paul Molitor - Brewers - Akgonzolyn (Wahoo!!)
On the back of Ripken's card, it says, "Perhaps his most significant achievement: he played every inning of every Oriole game (in 1983)." They had no idea just how many innings Ripken would go on to play...
Congrats to Mark, who scored twice in this pack! And, to show my ignorance of baseball history: I had no idea Garvey played for the Padres and was a true write-in for the 1983 All-Star Game. See? I learned a few things here. These bits o' cardboard can do that for a person.
