PAD Circus - 046 - Getting Hook'd and a Bag of Chipz

Okay, let's face it: Some of us are dying to see what is in the pack of "Hook" cards that Bo Rosny sent to us for the Circus. I have no idea what category these cards are going to end up in. The better point worth pondering is how many folks are going to try and claim them. Hahaha! Of course, I am saying this before opening them, which means I am probably going to want them all - karma and all that.

We'll open some baseball as well!

Well, now... I decided to use "Swashbuckling" for pirate-related fight scenes, discerning it from "Fencing." Since A&G has a "Hoist the Flag" series, I thought I would include Hook-specific cards in there with the other pirates of that set. The card with Robin Williams on the phone? Yeah, I have no idea what to do with that one. Feel free to toss ideas in the comment section. As for the sticker, I figure we will end up with more movie packs (because several of you have that kind of sense of humor), so I went with "Movie Sticker."

Okay, let's open a "Bag of Chipz!" What's in a bag of Chipz? Why, several packs of 2013 Chipz, of course. How many? I dunno yet. But, we can't just have one, as the saying goes... (scan of all these Chipz appears at bottom of post)

WOW!! Congrats to TSHenson for pulling THREE items! Not only that, but they were all insert/specials! How cool! That magnet was an interesting bit to figure out which one was actually magnetized. Yeah, okay, so it took me longer than a 3rd grader to figure it out, but part of my slow learning was the fact I was mesmerized by the concept. I probably shouldn't admit a lot of things online, huh... Hey, we pulled a Triber, too! Congrats everyone!

There is a weird line across the McCutch Chipz... Almost like a perfectly straight pencil line. Very weird. I'm sure I've said this before, but I am very interested to see what the VC Royals do with all these playmats...

PAD Circus - 045 - Bo Knows Tribe Cards, BoPacks, and Elvis??

Hello, folks! When I got home today, I had an over-stuffed envelope waiting in my mailbox! It was from Bo Rosny and inside were things I never imagined.

There were Tribe Cards, which is ALWAYS a treat for me! I cannot tell you how cool it is to get Indians cards in the mail from folks. Every time, I am like a kid in a candy store.

There were three BoPacks (custom packs put together by Bo), Donruss, Fleer, and Topps. The packs were a bit worse for the wear, adding to the charm:

As I mentioned, there were Tribe Cards! But, there were also Hook cards and Elvis cards...

I can only imagine Bo is all too happy to supply some much needed non-baseball for the breaks. I truly never thought we would be busting Hook and/or Elvis here. But, I'm not one to shy away from a challenge, so we will rip those puppies at some point!

Hello, everyone! In this post, we are busting open just one pack of cards. I know, I know. I haven't "Lay's Potato Chip"-ped in a while. But, this time, we're doing one pack. Let's see what we rip open from our big ol box o wax:

I believe that is the first time we pulled the same player from a pack that went to two different managers! And, it is a Triber to boot! Wahoo!! Congrats to my fellow Indians manager, Enamel Rods. Congratulations to the others that got cards from here as well! VC Royals pulled two cards, but for two different categories! This was one crazy pack.

PAD Circus - 043 - Tribe Card from Mark and Bustin Wax!

Hello, everyone! You'll be happy to know that we had power restored around midnight or so - or that's what I was led to believe since I had been long since catching zzzs by then.

I came home from work to find a very nice greeting card in the mail with two cards stuck inside!

The one on the left is a 1968 Topps Game card of Steve Hargan! I am 99.9% sure that I do not already have this card. This is one I am pretty sure I would remember because it is so unique. It is one of the coolest cards I've seen!  THANK YOU, MARK!!

Included with the Hargan was this 1990 Stars and Stripes Ron Wolfley card. Now, it could have simply been filler, sure. But, you see, our friend Mark A (Sons of Diagoras) usually has some kind of ulterior motive in mind. So, let's see if we can figure this one out.

• The card is simply filler acting as a reinforcement piece.
• Wolfley plays for the Cardinals, which used to be in St. Louis, which is not far from where I live (comparatively speaking... It's about 7 hours drive, give or take.
• It's a Stars and Stripes, which we have busted a lot of the latest incarnation on here lately.
• Wolfley's last name closely resembles that of the school mascot for the town in which I live. They are the Curley Wolves. 

I placing bets on the last one there. Hopefully, Mark will clue us in!
