182 Packs of baseball - 123 - Easy as A-B-C

Any time I can get a Michael jackson reference in there, I'll go for it. Such is the case for tonight's subtitle.  It really is that simple sometimes.

The pack for this Sunday's adventure come from 1997: Pinnacle New Hobby.

Wil Cordero - Red Sox
Craig Biggio - Astros
Sandy Alomar Jr - Indians - WAHOO!!
Wilton Guerrero - Dodgers Rookie
Mark Grudzielanek - Expos
Manny Ranirez - Indians - WAHOO!! That's TWO!
Alex Rodriguez - Mariners
Carlos Baerga - Mets
Barry Bonds (Giants) and Alex Rodriguez (Mariners) - East Meets West
Juan Guzman - Blue Jays

The Bonds/A-Rod is a double! There were two Tribers in the pack, too! That is great! What's not great is a storm that raged through central Arkansas, taking barns, trees, trampolines, and who knows what else with it. Prayers go out to those affected. As for me, my only "loss" is connectivity speed. So, no pics - again. Yeesh.

182 Packs of Baseball - 122 - Pick a card, any card...

Haha, yesterday, I finally had the idea to use my iPhone to post entries. Today, I managed to let my iPhone run out of battery. Murphy's Law is in full effect.  There si no telling what will happen once I break the seal on this pack of cards.

Tonight, I've got another pack of 2011 Topps Attax:

Juan Pierre - White Sox
Chase Field - Diamondbacks
Wandy Rodriguez - Astros
Juan Uribe - Dodgers
Josh Hamilton - Rangers
Carlos Pena - Cubs

The Josh Hamilton card is pretty sparse in the 'play' section at the bottom. In fact, I had to double check to make sure it wasn't some kind of insert. Weird.

182 Packs of Baseball - 121 - Should have thought of this before

I don't know why I didn't think of posting via my iPhone when I don't have access to my computer. Ah well, live and learn.

Tonight, I have a pack of 2011 Topps Attax:

Prince Fielder - Brewers
Brett Wallace - Astros
Jon Lester - Red Sox
Victor Martinez - Tigers
Carlos Lee - Astros
Kosuke Fukudome - Cubs

I think we actually have doubles here. I would need to check, but off the top of my head, I think we do.

182 Packs of Baseball - 120 - Howard You Like a Trophy?

I spent the evening watching the USA take medals and/or place highly in swimming and women's gymnastics. Very proud to be an American for sure!

Tonight, we celebrate all things good about America by opening a pack of 2009 Upper Deck Signature Stars. Er, well, there is the whole "NOT authorized by MLB" thing, but we'll ignore that for tonight.

Derek Lowe - Braves
Adrian Gonzalez - A's
Ryan Howard - Phillies - Trophy Winners Insert
Jake Peavy - White Sox
Chipper Jones - Braves

These are pretty nice cards. And, despite not being authorized, you can still pretty well figure out which team is featured by looking at the players.

Each day of the regular baseball season, I am busting open a pack of baseball cards.  These are packs that I have laying around and/or that I have purchased recently on a whim.  I list the cards in the pack and scan in some of them.  I shoot for 9 cards, but sometimes I may scan more, other times fewer.  It all depends on how things hit me in that particular pack.  Oh yes, there will be duplication.  I have a TON of packs from certain brands/years.  I will, however, try to mix things up throughout the season.

For those keeping score, I know there are not actually 182 GAMEDAYS in the 2012 season.  I am counting ALL the days between Opening Day and the last day of the regular season.  Frankly, it's easier that way.  Thanks for playing along.

Also, you are welcome to claim teams/players (Max 3 total). Rules are at the following:
