Let's Get Scratchin'!!

All the scratch-off playing cards were shuffled up randomly, then assigned to the trounament games. Brackets were created such that the first round of play uses the following seeding: 1-3, 5-7, 9-11, 12-10, 8-6, 4-2. This means the Round One seeding appears as follows:

madding vs. mmosley - Athletics vs. Blue Jays

white sox cards vs. joey - Mariners vs. Rangers

tastelikedirt vs. Chris B - Braves vs. Blue Jays

Chris(M) vs. motherscratcher - White Sox vs. Royals

erin vs. voltaire - Orioles vs. Brewers

dayf vs. kevin - Rockies vs. Marlins

Madding, WhiteSoxCards, TasteLikeDirt, Chris(M), Erin, and Dayf are officially allowed to choose their first THREE scratch-off picks for their respective playing cards! Remember, there are 32 spots to choose from! Just give me the SPOT NUMBER and I'll begin scratching off the cards!

This tournament may get fast and furious! Let's keep the game fun! Please do not post your picks until I give you the go-ahead. Some games will end before others, but we will not move to the next round until each of the games has been completed for the current round.

Players, please respond to THIS POST for the first picks! I will create new posts after each round of number-picking. New space selections will be made at the end of each NEW post, in order to keep things moving along.

Remember, EVERY player gets a game-used or autograph card at the end of each round! I will list each player's card after each round.

Let's get scratchin!! (Rules here here)

Internet Woes - Delay of Game

It figures the Internet in our location was hampered by a crew of folks working on a ditch. In fact, we lost Internet, phones, and anything else related to the local phone company! On top of that, I ended up being out of town this weekend! you might think someone somewhere was trying to tell me something... LOL

No such luck for them! I will be back in town Sunday evening and I will have the seeding ready with a complete list of players and prizes. The partial list I made before got mixed reviews, but 'full disclosure' might garner a more positive reaction. Then again, I have the players lined up, it doesn't matter what the general public thinks about the free game-used/autos I'm handing out!

Hang in there just a bit longer, and we'll get the scratch-off party started!

Chris and Chris B, I'll get your 'welcome' messages out. No worries! You are IN the tourney. :-)

Tourney Update - Good news/bad news/good news

I'm all about giving people the GOOD news first when it comes to playing 'good news/bad news,' so here is the GOOD NEWS:

The Scratch-off Tournament is still on! If you've already signed up, your place is secure in the games to come!

Now, the BAD NEWS:

Due to "operator headspace" (that is, sometimes I am quite the idiot), the tournament will only seed TWENTY PLAYERS max! It's a long story, well, not really, I misread a lot of game-used/autos that I was bidding on and when they arrived today, I was seriously shy of the number of cards I thought I would have. Again, my own 'operator headspace.'

MORE GOOD NEWS:

This means that there are still about NINE spaces left! If you thought about signing up, but weren't sure, NOW is the time! Once we reach twenty players, I will seed the brackets and we will get rollin!

Sign Up by RESPONDING HERE!

What would YOU do with $1.6 million?

John Rogers of North Little Rock, Arkansas, (about 100 or so miles North of where I live) opted to buy one of the 'Holy Grail' cards. Yeap, he spent $1.6 million on a T206 Honus Wagner card. He said he's been dreaming of owning one since he was eight. Now, THAT'S living out your childhood, card-collectin' dreams!

Don't have 1.6 mil laying around? Don't have ANY money laying around? Want free game-used/autograph cards? You know what to do: Go here...

Tourney Seeding Update

Heya folks! So far, I have 7 confirmed players and two more that I'm just waiting for contact info. Remember, the deadline to sign up for the scratch-off tournament is Friday, August 8. There is a limit of 20(*) players max, so if you wanna play, be sure to respond before the deadline (and before all the spots are taken!).

Just surfed in and have no idea what I'm talking about? No problem! Click HERE to read all about it!

I know some of you may be curious as to some of the players that will be given away, and you know I can't keep a secret for long, so here are a handful of the game-used players: Jim Edmonds, Steve Belcher, Alex Escobar, Andruw Jones, Justin Morneau, Barry Zito and many others including a HOFer or two!

One side note: Tournament players can only sign up once for this tourney. Sorry, no double-dippers on this one.

Tell your friends, tell your readers (if you are a fellow blogger), tell your local newspaper (okay, maybe not)!

(*) The number of players was reduced to twenty on 08/04/2008.
