Tribecards from Outer Space: My son goes vending and we bust a pack

My son went with some friends to see a movie. While there, they played games and such. He said there was a vending machine with baseball cards in white cardboard sleeves for a quarter. He put in a quarter and got a John Olerud card. He tried again. A different John Olerud card. An yet again, he tried his luck. You guessed it, a third, different, John Oledud card.  Hedging his bets, he placed the last of his quarters from that dollar in and pulled the handle. Yup, a different John Olerud card. Seriously, vendor dude? You are the one putting this crap together, can't you at least pretend to collate!? Now, my sone did get a bonus card. When he pulled one of the sleeves out of the machine, it had a 1995 Fleer Ultra Gold Medallion Extra Stars football card: Derrick Thomas. The card made the whole Olerud scam worth it. I don't collect football, but that is one nice specimen of cardboard!

john Olerud-ness aside, let's open a  pack of cards! How about 2004 Topps Chrome series One. Four cards per pack. Man, four cards!? Let's hope this small pack packs a punch:

So, in a pack of four cards, we pull TWO Juan Pierres!? What the fruit, man? I guess my son's dealings with the Olerud epidemic rubbed off on this pack. Well, certainly congrats go to Scott! And, to 2x3 as well. We did manage to add a free agent to the pile, but something just seems very wrong - very, very wrong.

I have no idea why the two Pierre cards scanned so differently... Hmm... Yeah, strange things are afoot at the Circle-K...
