Tribecards from Outer Space: Draft Results, Crackin Wax Box Update, and Group Break Info

Whew! We've got a LOT to cover, so "watch me for the changes and try to keep up."*

First up: Draft Results. Er, well, we have a bit of an issue first. As you can see, I had to call someone "NONAME" because stupid me forgot to make the "Enter your name" part REQUIRED. Duh. So, someone selected two players but did not tell me who the manager was. I ran the draft accordingly. That is, I assume the manager will admit they forgot to put their name on their paper and stand in front of the class, dancing the jig with a banana in his/her ear.

Second draft update: I mistakenly fat-fingered Gantner's name, thus inadvertently adding him to the draft. Actually Thorzul had already claimed him. So, I removed the misspelled name and shifted subsequent selections to the left (bumping the remaining choices up, in other words).

Notice the empty "Please enter your" in Row 20:

Here is the list in random order with "NONAME" subbing for the empty slot:

The raw list after randomizing:

The final results. One shut-out. That stinks:
If NONAME does not come forward, I will simply put Wilton Guerrero back into the draft pool for next week.

Let's talk about the Crackin' Wax Prize Box. This is **NOT** the box I am using for the $7 Group Break. This is the box I won for helping donate to charity over at Crackinwax.Wordpress.com!  The Crackin' Wax box, as you may recall from previous posts, is being divvied up among the managers! The only exceptions are Indians cards. I get those as my own prize for winning the box in the first place. Remember, though, my Tribecards from the Crackin' Wax group break were shared among managers with Indians players as appropriate. Clear as mud? In a nutshell: The Crackin' Wax box goes to managers. The Gint-A-Cuffs bought box goes to folks who bought spots in the Group Break.

I will post the Crackin' Wax box shortly. That will serve as tonight's "pack break!"

Now, let's talk about the Group Break. I will post the Group Break cards on Monday, August 19, 2013. We got "close enough" for me to use the proceeds to buy another box of 2013 Allen and Ginter's for a Group Break! Essentially, those buying in to the current break are getting cards for a box already bought. I've just decided that it is worth buying another box for a new group break in the future. Unless you are sick of A&G at this point and maybe I can get something else you'd like to see...

  4. I really considered buying all five remaining open teams in the group break, but could really only spring for two. You may have noticed the 4:59 timestamp on my post for buying the Reds and Red Sox. I was waiting to see if other folks would buy more slots. I'm glad we were able to trigger another break even with the open spots, although I also wouldn't mind seeing another product busted open. I don't really have many suggestions as to what that other product might be. I am looking forward to the big reveal tomorrow.

    1. I did see that you were sniping, er waiting... Haha! I truly appreciate you buying up so many slots! I'm going to see what's out there and pick something else to buy and hold another group break. It may Ginter or maybe something else just as fun! Either way, thanks again!

  5. Oh, and I had to look up the source of the quote. I may be the only member of my generation who has never seen the entirety of any of the Back to the Future movies.

    1. That's okay, I've never seen any of the "Star Trek" movies or TV shows and have never watched "Dr. Who" for what it's worth.
