Free Agent Draft - Let's Try This Again

Okay, feel free to read the previous post about the free agent draft. In summary, the system I initially launched had some glaring issues. At least, I think they were issues and a couple folks expressed concern as well.

So, I have a revamped Free Agent Draft form.

You can pick up to SEVEN Free Agents for the draft. This way, you can rank them in order that you prefer.  You do not have to choose seven, but you will have to pick at least ONE if you want to participate in the draft (otherwise, why bother, right?).

Note: You do *NOT* have to pick a player or players each week. If you are happy with what you have (or just don't see anything you want yet), then you can sit out on any of the drafts. This is all about what you want for your collection. Likewise, if you pick players every week, that's perfectly fine, too. Who knows, maybe you'll snag someone up that later is requested in a trade deal.

Sunday night after 9pm CST, I will close the survey and randomize the managers. The draft will be a snake-style elimination.

If you filled out the other survey, please fill out this new one instead. However, any manager that filled out the other one who does not fill out this new one will have a random selection of their previous choices selected and entered for them. Boy, that's a poorly written sentence! Ugh. Well, hopefully, you get the gist.

Sorry for making everyone have a "do over," but I think this will serve the cause in a much better, fairer fashion. As before, players not drafted this week will be rolled over to the following weeks.

  1. question: if we pick seven players is it possible to get all seven players or are we limited to just one or two?

    1. If the, er, cards fall your way, then you could very well end up with all seven!

  2. Another question: Do we HAVE to pick players every week? If not, will there be a "you have draft a player at least once a month"-type rule?

    1. No, no. No one is REQUIRED to pick another draft picks at all! Though, looking back, I see where that got lost in translation. I will fix the post to reflect that. Thanks for the heads-up!
